Cyprus is the perfect destination for youth parties, romantic getaways, and family vacations. Its beaches and resorts frequently rank in the top 3 and top 10 in Europe, while its discos and nightclubs are celebrated every summer in European rankings. Cypriot wines often win international awards, and the island’s rich history, as part of ancient Greece, attracts tourists from around the globe.
Cyprus offers incredible cultural and natural diversity. Stunning beaches with turquoise waters and white sand, vibrant nightlife in Ayia Napa and Protaras, unique gray or greenish sand in Larnaca and Limassol – not as beautiful as in Ayia Napa but these places are with rich cultural life, the profound cultural heritage of Paphos, waterfalls, forests, and ancient monasteries of the Troodos Mountains—all can be found on this small island.
Exploring the entire island in one trip is nearly impossible; even if you visit all the major attractions, the experiences might blend together, lessening the overall enjoyment.
This article focuses on Ayia Napa, renowned for its magnificent beaches with white sand and crystal-clear waters, and its vibrant nightlife.
Our company offers rentals of children’s gadgets (strollers, car seats, cribs, etc.) and sports and leisure equipment (SUP boards, kayaks, game consoles, coffee machines, etc.). Beaches
- Nissi Beach (Location) — One of the most popular beaches in Cyprus and Europe, consistently ranking in the top 5 most beautiful beaches in Europe. In 2024, it was named the best beach in Europe by the reputable British publication QuoteZone.Ideal for children with its shallow entry, crystal-clear waters, and nearly white sand. It offers numerous water activities, cafes, and restaurants along the beach, catering to various budgets. The beach is also great for partying, with many cocktail bars open late, playing modern music, and hosting foam parties at certain times.
Tips for Nissi Beach:
- Parking is scarce in season, both on paid and free lots. Try the free lot first. If you go from Ayia Napa center you will find firstly paid parking and the next turn left is free parking.
- A nearby Zorbas bakery offers fresh, reasonably priced food, potentially tastier and cheaper than beachside options.
- Paid showers are available, but free showers can be found 100 meters towards Ayia Napa.
- Lockers are available and it’s better to use it than leaving belongings unattended. Nissi beach is very popular not only among tourists but among thieves too.
- Bringing your own umbrella and mat might be a good idea due to the high demand for sunbeds.
- Off-season visits reveal its true beauty without the crowds.

- Landa Beach and Makronissos Beach (Locations and here) — These beaches might not be as Instagrammable as Nissi Beach but offer less crowded experiences. They feature clean, light sand, turquoise waters, and convenient access.Highlights:
- Easier parking and availability of sunbeds and umbrellas.
- Free showers and necessary beach infrastructure like cafes, toilets, and water sports.
- Nearby ancient tomb ruins add a cultural aspect to your visit (Makronissos tombs).
- A good bistro offers a range of foods, including Slavic dishes like borscht and dumplings.

- Musan Beach (Location) — Though not great for swimming due to its rocky nature, it hosts an underwater sculpture museum, perfect for beginner divers and snorkelers. Basic amenities are available, and nearby stores and restaurants are within reach.
- Limanaki Beach (Location) — Close to Ayia Napa’s center, it is crowded due to its proximity to many hotels. It features a sandy beach with a rocky water entry, limited facilities, and numerous disco bars. Better spend 10 minutes more walking and go to Pantachou Beach.
- Pantachou Beach (Location) — Just outside Ayia Napa’s center, this beach offers good infrastructure and a wide shoreline. It has limited parking and an expensive bar with poor service.
